This salt is gourmet grade Sea Salt. Kosher Salt is guaranteed to be pure and free of pollutants. Some people do prefer simple kosher salt to some of the high mineral content sea salts. Those with more sensitive nasal passages find this salt to be more comfortable. If you do experience sensitivity to some salts you may also benefit from using purified, or distilled water.
